Check out SA’s best partnerships

Dear Friend,

Mazel tov to twin sisters Diane Bloch & Rosalie Wallach on their 80th birthday! When these sisters hit ¾ of a century, they went paragliding! What they’ll come up with now? Whatever it is, may Hashem bless you with many years of good health and togetherness.

Ruth Katzeff celebrated her 91st birthday this week- mazel tov! Ruth’s son, Norman, is a regular soloist in our choir and it’s always a pleasure watching Ruth’s nachas. May you continue enjoying the nachas in good health!

daven e caffé will take place this Wednesday, June 6. Davening @7am, followed by breakfast and message with Rabbi Wineberg. Email hillary@maraisroadshul.com to book your spot.

Mazel tov to Ettie Buch on the birth of her great granddaughter! Ettie’s weekly presence in Shul lightens up all our moods. We wish you continued good health and nachas.

Condolences to Freda Shapiro on the passing of her husband Lionel. For years, Freda’s presence in Shul was an inspiration and her son Alan, who lives in Perth, often sings with our choir. We wish Freda, and her children Alan, Gary and Janine comfort and strength during this difficult period.

Congrats to this year’s Bat Mitzvah Club for some outstanding partnerships. Last night some 50 Moms, Grannies and kids gathered in our Shul Hall for the annual Challah Bake with Rebbetzin Sara. As a charity element, raffle tickets were sold for prizes and the proceeds went to Cape Town’s exciting Mikveh Project.

Another of BMC’s partnerships was with Souper Troupers. Everyone brought vegetables from home, and then peeled them into pots so that soup can be prepared for the homeless. On Sunday, the BMC girls all brought sanitary items in a partnership with Wizo to help female learners in the Townships. What a club, what a group of young ladies!

A highlight of our communal calendar is the annual graduation ceremony for the Bat Mitzvah Girls. Combining Cantor Ivor’s music supported by the choir and talented musicians, prose and presentation by the young ladies and Mom’s blessing to their daughters, Rebbetzin Sara’s Video roundup and coordination, this event is guaranteed to make you proudly Jewish. The graduation takes place on Sunday June 10 3-4pm in our Main Shul and everyone is welcome.

Ten Paths to G-d is Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks’ latest education initiative- and you can get it right here in Marais Road Shul! Starting this Monday night, Rabbi Pini Hecht will be leading a 4-week course using the materials and audio visuals prepared by the UK’s former Chief Rabbi. And what’s more the course is free! Thanks to a generous congregant, the Course fee has been waived. Click here to book or call the Shull office.

Shabbat Shalom and happy reading!
