Mazel tov to Committee member Debra Levin and to Jack Levin on the Barmy of their son, Ben! Ben had his first Aliyah yesterday in a capacity filled Shul and was so confident, you’d think it was his ‘second Bar Mitzvah’. Mazel tov to Shul regular Barry and Collette Levin and to Morris and Bernice Vinik of Durban on their grandson’s Bar Mitzvah. Enjoy the nachas!
The Levin’s history with the Shul goes way back, and Debra’s relationship with the Shul is very deep, having worked at the Shul and now serving on the Shul’s Management Committee. It’s a thrill to be celebrating with you guys once again and I know that for all of you the Shul truly feels like home.
Late last year I had a health complication when I had an attack of kidney stones. At the time I expressed my appreciation to all involved- first and foremost, Hashem, the Sustainer of life and the Healer of flesh. This Shabbas, Sara and I are sponsoring a Cholent lunch from 1-2pm as a thanksgiving to Hashem for my return to good health and for Sara’s recent birthday. If you are available, please feel free to join us, even if just to have a l’chaim and taste of Sara’s famous cholent.

Condolences to Lilian Sheldon and her family on the tragic loss of her daughter Corinne Pearce. May Hashem grant you strength in this time.
It was a treat to visit Highlands House on Monday and plant a tree in their beautiful garden. I was able to visit some of the trees I had planted in years gone by and can report that they are getting along nicely. Most importantly was spending time with friends, the residents, who exude life and Yiddishkeit.
Mazel tov to Aaron and Louise Maranz on the birth of a grandson! May you guys keep having nachas from your growing tribe kenehora.
