Cape Town experienced a profound loss with the untimely passing of Eliot Osrin, on Wednesday. First and foremost, he was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and we wish his wife Myra and sons Malcolm, Jeffrey and Bernard, and their families our deepest condolences. Eliot will be remembered as the father of the Cape Town Jewish community and his influence of 5 decades of leadership is felt in every single one of our institutions. Eliot came every Friday Night to Shul and was deeply committed to our Shul. I know our community joins me in wishing his family strength and comfort. Yehi zichro baruch.

Our Shul lost another regular this week with the passing of our beloved Hammy Kagan. Hammy was in Shul every Shabbas day and often served as our Kohen representative. We wish Miranda and their daughters Ronit and Sharna our condolences. May Hashem grant you comfort.

Last week we bid tzeitchem leshalom to Sam and Reva Chait who went to Israel on their annual trip and for the bar Mitzvah of their grandson, Ovadia Shalom. Mazel tov and much nachas!

Mazels to our in-house caterer, Hadassah Friedman on the birth of a granddaughter, born to Greg and Sara Stern!

Mazel tov to Eldred Polikoff on his 80th birthday! May you and Eva have years of good health and much nachas.
