Welcome back!

Dear Friend,

After a few-years break & many many requests, I’m pleased to welcome back Shabbat Unplugged to our Shul. SU will provide a bit of gies pre-shul as it has always popularly done. It’ll tinker less with the service, but we always hope to have a bit of fun!

Next Friday, March 6, SU is hosting Music & Mystery. Great pre shul entertainment from 6:10pm with a drum circle led by Charles Summerfield! Also a touch of mystery, which I cannot disclose. However, as Sherlock would say, “something’s afoot”. Plus great prizes for the kids including a bicycle!

Welcome back, Shabbat Unplugged!

Mazel Tov to Amber Fanaroff on her Bat Mitzvah this Shabbas! Amber’s parents, Lance & Alex Fanaroff are community leaders and I know that Amber’s energy and irrepressible love of people and all things happy is a great source of their inspiration- Mazel Tov! Mazels to grandparents,

Stan Denice Fanaroff of Jo’burg and my dear friends Clive Sussman Dawn Sussman. Enjoy the nachas!

Mazel Tov to Marc Tamar Speechly on the birth of their second son, Nadav Gal, whom I had the great honour of naming this morning. Mazels to grandma Gill Speechly on the birth of her grandson! Marc is a former treasurer of our Shul and it’s real nachas to continue the simchas together.

Mazels to Daryl Sher on his 50th Birthday and to Sara-Lee Jackson on her 40th Birthday! Many decades of good health, nachas, joy & prosperity.

Mazel Tov to Mrs. Ann Harris on the Bar Mitzvah of her grandson in London. Much nachas!

Join our Cantor Ivor Joffe tonight for a pre-Shul ‘Kumzitz’ of joined song in honour of the joyous month of Adar! From 6:15pm in the small Shul.

Tonight we are offering birthday blessings (& chocolates) to our February birthdays. Pls let the shul Office know so we could include your special little one in the mix. Happy birthday!

Purim is around the corner, so diarize Monday March 9 for a kids & family party with Dr. Doolittle! Great prizes on offer and a great time for young & old.

Speaking of Purim, one of the important mitzvos is to give Tzedaka on Tuesday March 10, to those less fortunate. As always, you’re welcome to contribute to my Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund, & I will ensure that those who could use it get it on Purim. Banking details are:

Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund Bidvest Savings Acct 4119444001 branch 462005 ref: your name + Purim. (Investec clients should add 2 zeroes to their account number!). Thank you so much!

Shabbat shalom & happy reading!
